Our Plans

We are always seeking new audiences and new opportunities to share a love of classical orchestral music.

The pandemic, followed by the cost-of-living crisis, affected our activities and our audiences such that 2021 and 2022 were tough years financially. We are very grateful to those who continued to support us and enabled us to continue to bring classical orchestras and great music to Kendal.

Early 2023 saw a renewed growth in our concert audiences and we are keen to build on this in the years ahead.

Development plans include:

• Working with our visiting orchestras, especially Royal Northern Sinfonia, to develop a community outreach programme across Westmorland and Furness.
• Support for classical music performances in outlying venues and using these events to raise awareness of Lakeland Sinfonia and its Kendal concerts.
• Continued partnership working and reciprocal marketing with others involved in classical music in and around Westmorland and Furness and Morecambe Bay, such as Lake District Summer Music, the Westmorland Orchestra, the Haffner, and Cumbria Youth Orchestra.
